By CarFrom ROME (A1) - From BARI (A16) - From SALERNO (A30 o A3) –  From the tollgate in Naples there are 2 alternative routes:

Port of Naples: do not take the Tangenziale, but follow the indications for ZONA PORTUALE, after this continue inside the port, follow the signs IMBARCO TRAGHETTI. The embarkation point is at the Port of Naples "CALATA PORTA DI MASSA", approximately 3 km from the highway.
ADVANTAGES: better accessibility from the highways (you can avoid the city traffic because the exit is not far from the port and the road which you follow is internal to the port, parallel to Via Marina).
DISADVANTAGES: the navigation time is a bit longer and the trip is a bit more expensive; there are a few number of ferry.

Port of Pozzuoli: follow the indications for the Tangenziale and take it towards Pozzuoli, exit at Via Campana (exit n°12), turn right and drive following the indications for Porto di Pozzuoli, about 4 Km from the Tangenziale.
ADVANTAGES: tickets are cheaper and the navigation time is shorter. There are many ferryboats.
DISADVANTAGES: it’s a bit difficult reaching the harbor, because you have to drive along the Tangenziale and pass through the town of Pozzuoli. In case of traffic, it could take more than 1 hour.

 

BY BUS (new)From 23 June to 10 September it is possible to reach Ischia straight from Rome using the intermodal transportation: bus and fast ferry. The price is not expensive. BY TRAINThere are 4 train stations in Naples:
NAPOLI CAMPI FLEGREI: from this station it’s easy to reach the port of Napoli Mergellina by taxi, bus, tram and metro.
NAPOLI MERGELLINA: the port of Napoli Mergellina is within an easy reach (200 mt.)
NAPOLI CENTRALE o NAPOLI PIAZZA GARIBALDI: from both stations it’s easy to reach the Port of Naples - NAPOLI BEVERELLO by taxi, bus or tram.

 

BY PLANEFrom the airport of NAPOLI CAPODICHINO it is possible to reach by taxi the Port of Naples (Napoli Beverello and Napoli Mergellina), it takes about 20-30 minutes. There is also a bus line, called ALIBUS from the airport to the station or the Port of NAPOLI BEVERELLO, there is a bus every 30 minutes, from 5.50 a.m. to 11.30 p.m.

 

Other information on Transportation TAXI
It’s useful to know that taxi in Naples have a tariff with predetermined rates applicable on specific and prearranged route. The predetermined rates are all inclusive, there are no extra charges to pay. No matter how many the passengers are. Taxi drivers are obliged to apply the predetermined rate if the customer asks for it and they have to write a receipt before the ride begins. The price list is available on board. For this service the taximeter is not activated.
TRANSFER SERVICE
The hotel can organize transfers directly from the airports of Naples and Rome and from the train stations of Naples and Rome for an all-inclusive fee (taxi, ferry, luggage transfer and all taxes are included).
Ex.: from Naples Capodichino Airport or Stazione Centrale (central train station) the transfer fee is 40 euro per person one-way.
